"The Rescue" goes to New York City
March 15th:
Glad Tidings Tabernacle Church in Manhattan invited Cindy Lee and Tim to visit New York City. Our Lord
sanctioned the trip by providing free round trip tickets from an anonymous
source at our Orchards Community Church in Lewiston, Idaho.
While in New York City, "The Rescue" will be for sale with part of the proceeds for each sale going to help support a Manhattan Christian counseling center. Cindy Lee has prepared a Special NYC Edition for the trip and it will eventually be available for sale to all through this and possibly other websites.
We have also been invited to attend a Christian benefit concert at Carnegie Hall in late March, 2002. Several Manhattan churches and many Christian entertainers have pooled talents and resources to put this "Encourage America" concert together.
Cindy Lee and Tim feel blessed to be able to be involved in the Lords work through his piece, "The Rescue". Please pray for our leaders and all the people involved in helping those affected by the Attacks on America.

3rd:
We
made it home safe from NYC, several days ago. Wow what a trip! I
really believe that all Americans should spend a week in Manhattan. It is
a different world. The diversity of the people and cultures is wonderful.
Part of what we enjoyed about Manhattan was not having to drive a car. Between walking, the subway, the bus and 12,000 taxis, you are pretty much covered in the transportation department.
We stayed on 34th Street at the Ramada New Yorker. It is down the street from some pretty awesome stuff. Madison Square Gardens, The Empire State Building, Penn Station, a short walk from other incredible places like Times Square, Broadway with all its theatres and much more. The subway was on the corner that took us to the museums up by Central Park or south to Wall Street and Ground Zero.
We
enjoyed a Christian concert at Carnegie Hall last Thursday.
Many Christian artists performed, including Phil Keaggy, Crystal Lewis,
Nicole Mullen, Anointed and many more. It
was called a “Night of Encouragement” and indeed it was. Two-thirds of the
tickets for the concert were given out free to people affected by September
11th.
The churches and individuals involved in putting this concert together did an
excellent job. The performers showed a true Christian spirit and we were
all blessed by their talents.
All week, we handed out small 2" x 4" laminated cards to all the firemen, policemen, Port Authority Police, and ground zero workers we were able to get within arms reach of and we were pleasantly surprised by their appreciation. The card had a small picture of "The Rescue" and a verse from John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." We told them about “The Rescue” being finished three days before September 11th and that we came to NYC to encourage them and to thank them for the jobs they do. They seemed very grateful.
We also gave prints to everyone at the fire station that filmed the video for the television show 9/11. This show aired in mid-March and had the video footage that was shot inside the Trade Centers before they fell.
We are still trying to figure out how to get a print into every fire and police station in Manhattan. We are in contact with several people in New York who are helping us to work out the logistics. We also want to show our appreciation to our hometown heroes here in Lewiston, Idaho and plan to get them prints for their walls as well.
